New work, an off shoot of the Chromo series….obsessively blending paint in these 6”x6” pieces is a meditative process I crave at this moment.  Color mixing immediately transports me into a state of focus, shutting all else out.  These stormy atmospheric paintings, come from looking at the sky or thinking about water, but also harkens back to work I used to do dying fabric, making pigments bleed, seep, and fade out of themselves into another color, creating a zone of turbulence and morphing.  That turbulent zone is where most interesting things often happen.
